Pros

The colleagues at the time were very nice; they have since left the company.

Cons

Job duties

1. Organize and prepare teaching materials in the morning

2. In the afternoon, wait for instructors of clubs requiring on-site teaching to provide the materials needed for each class

3. In the evening, wait for instructors to return teaching aids, then organize and count them

4. Teach classes at various elementary schools

5. Handle miscellaneous administrative tasks

6. Graphic design

Working hours

The scheduled hours were eight hours per day, excluding lunch breaks, from Monday to Friday, five days a week.

In practice, employees were frequently required to stay late. If leave was taken, pay would be deducted, requiring make-up work—even on national holidays. There were also times when employees had to travel elsewhere on Saturdays to help with activities without a fixed schedule, or attend all day on both weekend days for reasons such as teacher training.

There was one period of 13 consecutive working days without a weekly day off.

Salary and benefits

NT$5,000 per month, with no student assistance. Pay would be deducted when leave was taken. Payments for work at various schools were handed over to the company.

Comments

This position was originally intended for student internships, but the actual work was mostly administrative or teaching-related and was completely different from what had been agreed upon during the interview. Employees had to be available whenever called and were frequently required to provide on-site support for unexpected situations. What this company lacked was administrative staff; design ability was merely an additional skill, not an essential qualification the company needed. It treated one student as multiple employees, using the guise of learning to exploit students as cheap labor.
