Read the community guidelinesHang in there for a few years, get cut loose to handle projects and write code directly, and get yelled at by clients and managers. You can improve your EQ along the way, and then the sky's the limit wherever you go.
The attitude of one veteran manager is truly hard to commend. Many engineers are angry but afraid to speak up. Those who were originally senior either slipped away or resigned; basically, the ones still there have all resisted at some point. To put it bluntly, this veteran manager bullies the weak and fears the strong, and has their own ideas about everything. I suggest finding a robot that will simply do exactly what you tell it to.
