Read the community guidelinesThe only direct-selling company connecting both sides of the Taiwan Strait; its Chinese herbal products are excellent.
Company environment:
Tianmei International’s headquarters are in Kaohsiung, while its Taipei branch is in a run-down building beside Taipei Main Station.
The ceiling is low, creating a sense of oppression, and the environment is very basic.
The employees’ office is very small and crowded, with poor feng shui!
Interview process:
I arrived on time. After the male sales manager, who was also handling reception, greeted me, he said everyone had to attend a meeting together.
The interview would take place about an hour later, so the candidate was asked to go downstairs for coffee and a walk or wait at the company.
This was the first time I had encountered something so bizarre. I was more surprised than angry.
They don’t even understand time management—maybe they should learn from Show Lo, haha 🤪
Interview with the Chief Strategy Officer—the glamorous “witch”
She was dressed fashionably and eye-catchingly; her luxury watch was impossible to miss.
During the interview, she occasionally checked messages on her phone⋯
After 25 minutes, she said she had to interrupt the meeting to rush to her next appointment.
She is usually in Kaohsiung and only occasionally visits the Taipei branch.
She also mentioned that the Taipei office would be closing in December⋯ (What?
She hoped to schedule a second interview.
She was looking for someone who could work in Kaohsiung long term.
Job responsibilities:
In addition to rebuilding processes and training team members, the customer service manager
would also need to establish a reporting system and submit product information to the fair-trade commission,
and communicate the requirements for and information about the bonus system with the IT vendor.
Time spent: one hour waiting + 25-minute interview
Conclusion: A very challenging job.
Unfortunately, it was let down by time management and communication and coordination.
Interview advice:
Think carefully about whether you can fit into this direct-selling company that is starting over.
Can you adapt to its systems and culture?
The salary is average, making it suitable for recent graduates or people willing to accept low pay.
