Pros

(The following are actual experiences working internally at 14F)

Pros

1. The Japanese president keeps his word and works in an organized manner.

2. The company's goals and direction are clear.

3. The Japanese president and Japanese CTO are genuinely good people.

Cons

Cons (on the surface)

1. Low compensation; annual salary is equivalent to 13 months of pay.

2. Regarding overtime pay, employees at job grade 6 or above cannot claim overtime pay.

3. The company provides no employee training.

4. Bullying and physical fights within departments are very serious, especially since bullying is mostly initiated by colleagues over 40.

5. The bullies make the transmission of work information unclear, with hidden messages and information, causing many colleagues to be unable to coordinate effectively at work.

6. Taiwan's middle managers conceal the true situation and do not report matters honestly to the Japanese president.

7. The company has four Japanese translators. One of them is very prone to making malicious reports and spreading many untrue rumors, causing many colleagues to be forced to resign.

8. When you ask questions, the bullies will usually stop you because they worry about colleagues learning and developing. Therefore, friends who want to come here to learn technical skills should think carefully.

9. The company has neither clear SOPs nor clear ISO standards. Many matters fall into gray areas, so one person has to take on work for other units as well. This was not clearly explained during the interview.

10. The optical technology capabilities from Japan are gradually being withdrawn.

11. Employee turnover is very high.

12. Because things move very slowly, many people have little to do. If you leave your position for too long, you may be reported; even if you leave to discuss a work-related issue with another colleague, you may still be reported.

13. The group of Taiwanese managers operates as a one-person-decision system. Do not offend them, or you may be sidelined.

Cons (behind the scenes)

1. Although the company is described as having a parent-subsidiary relationship with the Yung Chi Group, there is no clear separation.

2. Human resources, accounting and finance, legal, patents, and other functions use the same resources as the parent company.

3. Because the company has been continuously operating at a loss, Ying Chi's funding chain has been frozen, which is why the compensation is not generous.
