There is no overtime pay. Occasionally on Saturdays and Sundays, we have to attend company worship ceremonies or the funerals of friends of senior company executives—of course, without overtime pay. We also have to receive visiting guests and provide interpretation throughout the entire process, from picking them up in the morning to seeing them back to the hotel after dinner, which often lasts until almost midnight. None of this comes with overtime pay, because it is all supposedly an opportunity for us to learn. I reported the company for violating two provisions of the Labor Standards Act.
