The personnel website says there are two days off per week, but that is not actually the case.
They have a “rotating weekly rest” system, which means everyone has to take turns coming in to work overtime on Saturdays. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but overtime is often decided at the last minute. If you work overtime, you must stay until 8:00 p.m., but supervisors can only report two hours of overtime. In other words, one hour is unpaid work…
In addition, because of the nature of the work, you have to stand and walk for long periods. The only relatively flexible time during the entire day is the one-hour lunch break; during the rest of the time, you have to fill medication orders. The company uses a team-based approach, so inevitably some people work faster while others work more slowly. Whether you encounter an uncooperative teammate depends on your luck.
The vacation policy is different from what people generally expect. Basically, you only get time off on “national holidays”; flexible leave days are not provided.
Personally, I thought the interviewer was nice because she clearly explained the company’s drawbacks to the interviewee from the outset: “If you can accept this, we can continue talking; if you can’t, then leave—don’t waste either party’s time.” I think that was very good.
I didn’t really look closely at the salary because it wasn’t high.
Base salary: NT$20,500 + performance bonus + perfect-attendance bonus
The company evaluates people based on ability rather than seniority, so the performance bonus fluctuates.
Overall, it is quite suitable for people with quieter personalities who seek a stable work environment. To be honest, I think the environment is really good, apart from the working hours being far too long.
