Read the community guidelinesLet me start with the conclusion: The interview at this company was extremely impressive, and the interviewer was exceptionally capable.
At the beginning, there was a written test and a personality assessment, which took about an hour.
After waiting for 10 minutes, an HR representative came in to introduce the company, benefits, and so on.
Then I waited another 20 minutes for the interviewer. After coming in, they asked me to introduce myself.
Throughout my self-introduction and the entire interview, the interviewer kept scrolling on their phone. They only glanced casually at my résumé and said there was nothing that impressed them, then asked whether I had any questions.
I asked what kind of things would impress them. They casually mentioned examples such as handling high traffic, and said they wanted to find strong candidates!!!
I asked them: You had already reviewed our résumés in advance, so if I wasn’t suitable, why spend the time bringing me in for an interview?
They only replied that résumés were for reference (.....or do they not need to look at résumés at all!?), and that by coming to an interview, there was a chance of encountering a strong candidate!!! Strong candidates must surely be deeply hidden, afraid that their imposing presence might leak out, so they first restrain and conceal themselves on their résumés, using clairvoyance to encounter strong candidates. Everyone else can obediently offer up their time. That truly impressed me!
I don’t know what exactly is supposed to be impressive. But during the interview, the interviewer constantly scrolling on their phone was genuinely rather impressive, and using clairvoyance to read résumés and encounter strong candidates was also rather impressive. I suppose the interviewer’s abilities aren’t limited to the technical side, right!?
If you are the next interviewee, I suggest calling ahead to ask whether your abilities are at an impressive level—or you can go experience an impressive interview for yourself!
There are no drawbacks; it is an efficient company.
