The thought processes behind cutting and receiving/sending are far beyond the scope of ordinary human understanding.
They are lazy and don't want to use their brains; they just want to shirk their work onto others and have others solve their own problems for them.
They dare to shout loudly at others after failing to give them something. You really have to leave your brain at the door when going through the first and fourth floors—it’s much happier that way.
Dong You Da is all show on the outside but rotten within. It is so terrible that even after you leave and interview at other companies, you may first be mocked about having worked at Dong You Da. The products at Dong You Da are awful, and all you can do is let out an awkward laugh. The boss thinks he treats employees very well, but unfortunately, the senior managers under him keep undermining him, each worse than the last. Even though quarterly bonuses are paid on time every quarter, and there are company trips, meal vouchers, and other minor benefits, I still advise against risking your health to struggle at such a terrible company that does not value its employees.
By all means, do not join the sales department, and do not become a sales assistant either (including overseas sales assistants and Japanese-speaking sales assistants). The sales department is notorious for its open and covert infighting, and each manager is more despicable than the next; calling them devious would not be an exaggeration. The sales bonus system is constantly changed, and they pretend to be generous, but when they discover that you have received too much, they will find every possible way to withhold it. In addition, they do not value assistants and think they can simply pay to hire a new young woman. But I really want to say this: the sales managers are awful, and the sales assistant manager is even worse, okay? Relying on having her mother as a backer, she is unbelievably stupid and completely unable to understand the needs of people inside the factory. Even though she plainly does not understand what you are saying, she can still shamelessly continue pretending that nothing is wrong, believing that everything is the other party’s problem and never realizing that she herself has a problem. The people inside the factory are wary of her mother, so even the plant manager does not dare reprimand her. It is truly unfair to the people below who actually get things done. But then again, what can you do if you do not have a mother to rely on at Dong You Da and curry favor with the boss?
This company imitates Japanese-style corporations: it failed to learn the good parts but learned all the bad parts thoroughly. The seniority system is extremely pronounced, and veteran employees often bully newcomers. As mentioned above, if the sales assistant manager assigns you a task—or perhaps I should say makes things difficult for you—and you cannot finish it on time, her mother will come out and berate you, asking why you caused her daughter to be criticized by the boss. Please, does she have no idea what is going on? Your daughter is the stupid one. This really turned my entire worldview upside down. Departments do not get things done through intelligence and ability; they do everything by speaking louder than others. Whenever something happens, everyone pushes responsibility onto someone else. Just wonderful. Anyone who wants to join should prepare themselves mentally. Do not gamble your health on such a terrible company that does not value its employees.
The work environment is very good—bright and clean. Lunch is provided, and the benefits are quite good compared with those at other small and medium-sized enterprises.
The work involves coordinating with many departments. All I can say is that the managers at this company are crazy, especially the finance manager, whose yelling is so loud it could make you go deaf. Most importantly, I don’t know what has gotten into the boss—he has an inexplicable preference for the finance manager’s daughter, who was parachuted in as the manager of a certain unit. She gets paid without doing any work, and when something goes wrong, her mother takes the blame. She is completely incapable of taking responsibility as a manager. Most importantly, the boss really loves her. Colleagues privately say that the mother and daughter have put a spell on the boss. The assistants under this incompetent manager have left one after another. All I can say is that you’ll do better at this company if you have connections; if you don’t, you’re on your own.
During the interview, the supervisor’s attitude was extremely good.
The food and variety of dishes were also pretty good—not as bad as I had imagined.
After joining the company, some colleagues were extremely difficult to deal with.
They were impatient when teaching and would only scold you for not learning well.
“Don’t keep asking questions—get it right in one go.”
The company’s systems were terrible, and you had to be careful to get everything right the first time.
If you made a mistake, your colleagues would only complain: “Can’t you be more careful?”
Then the whole office would know that you had been complained about, but they wouldn’t think it was their problem—it was yours.
The company’s job postings asked for experienced candidates, but in reality, the workplace urgently needed someone with a blank slate to train.
