For both the initial and second interviews, interviewees were made to wait for more than an hour, a significant deviation from the agreed interview time. Even after everything had been discussed and just before signing the employment contract, job applicants were pressured to pay between approximately NT$12,000 and NT$20,000 out of pocket to have a self-promotional video filmed through this agency; otherwise, they would not be hired. These actions not only wasted many job applicants’ time, but also caused many people to pay tens of thousands of dollars without receiving any job or compensation. The reviews on Google Maps make it clear how many victims they have deceived using these fraudulent tactics.

During the phone call, I specifically asked whether job applicants would be required to take promotional photos or anything similar. Ms. Huang, the contact person, emphatically said no. After the applicant arrived at the agency office in a remote location and filled out a suspicious personal-information form, Ms. Huang began talking in circles, complimenting the applicant, and eventually said that promotional photos and a short video were still required (costing NT$14,000 in total). At the time, I claimed that I already had professionally taken promotional photos that could be used directly, but she repeatedly shook her head, saying that the photographer they worked with was better—apparently trying to brainwash the applicant.
