Read the community guidelinesThe colleagues all seem quite straightforward.
Although it is a website development company and could be considered a technology-oriented company, being inside feels more like being in an old factory. When I reported for work, I found that there was only one computer. The boss specifically came over and, as if he were going out of his way to provide me with a benefit, said, “You can use this mouse pad” (it seemed to be an unattractive, gaming-style one, though I’m not entirely sure of the design, and I was somewhat stunned). Then they gave me one more mouse pad… But none of the stationery, toilet paper, or trash cans that should have been provided were available. A colleague said we had to bring our own (how frugal can you get???). The room seemed to have been converted from a warehouse (?). One of the onboarding instructions was to remember to turn off the power to the extension cord every day before going home (?).
The person on duty rotates weekly and is responsible for vacuuming the floor, using an old, cumbersome vacuum cleaner (and very noisy) whose head kept falling off while vacuuming, to clean the entire floor.
Those things aren’t the main point. The main point is that there aren’t really many paid add-ons available—at most, cracked versions (which take a lot of time to find). The technology and methods feel quite old-fashioned, but it seems that the boss likes this kind of labor-intensive approach (meaning you spend a lot of time working hard to get things done).
Project management currently feels quite chaotic. There aren’t really any systems or processes; everything depends on what kind of project and client you happen to encounter (the arrangement of fate). There are many problematic situations because things are unclear at the beginning and all explode at the end, leaving the engineers to absorb the consequences… However, the company has been operating for this long and has built so many websites, which suggests that these old methods may perhaps be workable (maybe).
My overall impression is that the compensation and work environment are both average. I wouldn’t want to stay for long; perhaps it is suitable for beginners to gain experience.
That’s all.
