The salary is very low. No matter how much you tell the boss your minimum salary requirement is, they will always cut it by another NT$2,000–3,000, constantly testing an employee’s bottom line to see how much they can take advantage of you. If you don’t dare speak up to the boss and ask for what you need, they won’t give you a raise. The boss is the type who passively pretends nothing is happening. They will weave dreams for you, telling you that all company managers earn high salaries of over NT$50,000, deceiving inexperienced newcomers to the workforce. Don’t expect an annual bonus—it’s really very little, just 0.6–0.7 months’ salary. Whether in terms of salary and benefits or the annual bonus, this is the kind of company that will make you feel embarrassed and ashamed to tell others about it.
The opportunity to apply your strengths in areas you excel at
Most people would be unable to withstand the boss’s pressure. Even when the workday ends, you wouldn’t dare leave on time. If you do leave on time, the boss will even ask what you have to do after work—otherwise, why would you leave exactly when the workday ends? It’s the typical mindset of an exploitative boss. They may even require you, in addition to the duties of the position you applied for, to work as an unpaid production-line operator during any time left after finishing your own tasks.
