Read the community guidelinesThe office decor is quite nice (but the company restroom has neither an exhaust fan nor a window to the outside, which is extremely strange).
The boss usually arrives at the office fairly late in the morning, so things can feel more relaxed (but still uses surveillance cameras to monitor and listen in on us at all times).
The company really likes to make grand promises. During the interview, they described benefits that, after I joined, I found were mostly nonexistent. The boss says that benefits cannot be provided because business is not doing well, yet personally bought several new homes worth tens of millions, drives multiple luxury cars, and frequently shops online. The company is constantly receiving packages ordered by the boss.
The salary is low, and the year-end bonus is less than one month’s salary. In the past, there were many practices that did not comply with labor laws. Although they have now been changed, I do not know how much salary was withheld from us. Benefits that were previously provided would be taken back when the boss was in a bad mood, leaving everyone completely dumbfounded.
During the interview, they said the company would fully sponsor one overseas trip every year. I have been here for several years and have never gone abroad; the reason given every time is that business is not doing well.
The annual spring banquet is held at a stir-fry restaurant invested in by the boss. That would be one thing, but the prizes are still samples the boss acquired several years ago (some of which had been taken out and used by everyone in the company), including one that only has the outer casing and no internal machinery, as well as slow-moving products that the company could not sell.
Policies are constantly changed and changed again, established and then forgotten, forgotten and then re-established (sometimes within a very short period). The policies here are extremely chaotic.
Although the boss appears to speak with a smile, they still complain to many colleagues about other colleagues.
Anyone considering joining should think twice.
The colleagues are very nice (but most of them have probably left by now).
Seriously, don't go!!!
The following scenes were all things I dreamed about:
After staying for a while, the boss and manager were both polite at first, but later all sorts of unreasonable things happened. The salary did not match what was discussed in the interview. An employee who discovered problems and raised them with the boss was consequently treated as a thorn in his side. The promised raise after completing one year never came either; it was only increased by NT$1,000 reluctantly when the government announced that wages had to be raised. Even after the increase, it was still under NT$30,000—extremely low pay~
The boss is incredibly thin-skinned. Every time, he says that you can bring up any issues or questions, but the moment you do, you're doomed! He will bad-mouth and attack you behind your back to other people (and most of it is based on things he imagined). He has absolutely none of the gravitas a boss should have~
There are surveillance cameras on every floor of the company. He is very afraid that you will slack off or something, and will periodically check the cameras or secretly watch you from the office to see what you are doing. It's extremely creepy. When the boss discovered that employees had privately created a group chat, he started asking employees whether they were in the group and what they talked about in it. He seemed to constantly believe that employees created group chats specifically to bad-mouth the company. He loves imagining things, making arbitrary assumptions, and arbitrarily disliking people.
The boss practically has to complain about every employee who leaves. Previously, one employee used up their annual leave before resigning, and he was so angry that he threw the things the employee had left on their desk into the trash can, while continuing to mutter and curse at them. The employee had clearly done nothing wrong, making his behavior utterly unbelievable.
Whenever he has a one-on-one meeting with the manager, they have to close the door to talk—perhaps because he is afraid employees will hear him bad-mouthing other people? The manager is amusing too: after the meeting, he would sell the boss out, while the boss remained smugly unaware. Many people knew exactly what he was talking about XD
The manager also had many spectacular incidents, but since he has already left, I won't elaborate. After all, the source of a company is still the person who founded it. All I can say is that the boss has very poor judgment when it comes to people.
The products are almost all made in China but are forcibly packaged as Japanese brands. Shopee is full of identical products: other people sell them for NT$69, while we sell them for NT$699. Then he complains that none of our products sell well. If you tell him directly that the products are too expensive, he won't listen. Every meeting covers more or less the same things, like banging your head against a wall—an enormous waste of time.
The boss's wife often calculates salaries incorrectly and is also very skilled at using convoluted rhetoric. Ask her about A and she talks about Z—it is completely beside the point, rambling on about all sorts of irrelevant things. She is a master of complicating matters. It is astounding that these two oddballs can run a company. There are no systems at all; basically, everything is done according to their mood. The boss and his wife do not respect their employees. I previously saw other people post about this company's misdeeds on Tiantong, but after the boss found out, he seemed very angry, and now all of those posts have been deleted.
Some advice for anyone thinking of coming here: Run!!!!
