1. It’s a family business, but not a single person in the entire family has stable emotions—especially the owner’s wife. She’s already in her seventies and has absolutely no EQ. At the slightest issue, she will fly into a rage and humiliate you at the company or in front of everyone. Even if you’re eating in the employee cafeteria, she may storm in and loudly berate you. Even if you remain completely calm and polite while explaining what happened, she will act like a child, refusing to listen to anything you say and simply ranting loudly and irrationally.
2. The parents and both sons work at the company, and everything is decided by them. The entire company has no systems or procedures whatsoever. If you want to get promoted, sorry, not a chance. The highest you can realistically get is team leader; beyond that, you might have to blow their trumpet or something.
3. The pay is ridiculously low, and the benefits are absurdly terrible. On top of that, you’re required to work overtime until 9 p.m. If you don’t, the owner’s wife will loudly berate you: “Why aren’t you working overtime!!!!!”
4. A word of advice to anyone thinking of working here: if you hope to work somewhere through communication and rational discussion, I sincerely urge you not to come. They will not give you the opportunity to explain yourself or listen to what you have to say. Even if you are in the right or have suffered a great deal of injustice, this family will only get to know each employee at Hanklin through what other people say. And the person they rely on most for information is the company’s “plant affairs staff.” Whatever you do, do not offend the plant affairs staff, because once you do, you can really forget about staying at this company. Just fill out your resignation form.
