The boss (Japanese) is a typical exploitative employer—authoritarian and very skilled at emotional manipulation, often putting on an air of being highly capable. The job duties discussed during the interview differ from those after actually joining the company; one person is expected to do the work of three. The company has no accounting, human resources, or administrative staff, so subordinates are expected to handle these duties alongside their regular work. After employees began leaving one after another starting in May this year, only three people currently remain at the company: the boss, the boss’s wife, and a friend of the boss (Japanese; visa status is suspected to have expired). It can be described as being in a precarious state. There are no bonuses and no holiday gifts.
