Interview position: firmware engineer
Background: I worked on firmware during my studies; all of my professional experience has been as an Android app engineer.
This company invited me to interview for a firmware engineer position through 104.
I reminded them by phone and email (twice) that my work experience was primarily in Android and that my firmware experience consisted only of side projects. I wanted to make this clear in advance because I did not want to waste time (the company is located near Taoyuan HSR station, and I would be traveling there from Nangang/Xizhi). However, they still asked me to attend the interview.
When I arrived, the manager (apparently from Hong Kong) said, “I see that you don’t have relevant firmware experience; you’re not the person we’re looking for.”
This company’s working hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a maximum of two hours of break in between.
Those considering going should think twice.
