Pros

The boss is very accepting of people returning to the workforce.

The main thing is being willing to work.

New employees can learn a lot here, and sometimes the boss brings in French bakers to provide instruction.

The boss also strongly encourages new employees to learn and will raise their pay based on their abilities.

Master-level salaries can reach NT$40,000–50,000 or more.

This is a good place for people interested in learning a skilled trade.

Employees receive a 10% discount when purchasing the company’s own products.

Cons

Employees must arrange their own lunch; there is no subsidy.

The staff are divided into the bread department, the pastry department, and retail-store personnel.

Because this is a food-service business and the work must accommodate bread fermentation times, the relatively long working hours are understandable.

However, having only five days off per month is genuinely demanding and a real test of physical stamina.

Since the store sells a wide variety of products, people who feel they are not fast enough probably will not be able to handle the work.

The starting salary may look good to new employees, but when converted to an hourly wage, it is still relatively low.

Raises depend on individual ability.

Regarding personnel matters:

Since the master bakers were previously trained through strict discipline, and because of the nature of the food-service industry,

their tempers are, for the most part, understandable.
