A family business, staffed almost entirely by relatives and close associates. Only entry-level positions become available, so there is basically no opportunity for career development or salary increases.
There are basically no established systems; everything is decided by the boss. Of course, this also includes things like the boss deciding they don't like you and telling you to leave.
