Read the community guidelinesVery easy to find parking inside the Tainan Technology Industrial Park.
For an equipment supplier, the work areas inside the plant are kept quite clean, which suggests that standards are being enforced.
The equipment materials are relatively high quality; brands such as Phinex and Non Stone are used.
They will not recognize your previous experience in mechanical engineering or electrical controls, and the starting salary is only NT$27,000. In addition to paying your own labor and health insurance premiums, they do not provide meals either ^^ (So the actual take-home pay for an excellent engineer is only NT$25,000, right?); the interview happened to run until noon that time, and I saw employees walking around carrying instant noodles. Ha, even the food reflects how miserly this company is.
The supervisor also revealed that the company intends to train robot engineers for future assignments in Vietnam. But calling an overseas assignment paying NT$50,000 “training”?? They just want to find cheap, disposable engineers, right? Seriously, among the mechanical engineering departments at Taiwan’s top national universities, it is not as though there are no Vietnamese exchange students; their abilities are quite good. With this salary, while also requiring on-call duty locally, even capable local people would not want the job.
Work starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., with 7.5 actual working hours. However, leave is deducted based on 8 hours.
1. The company does not provide meals.
2. The work area has no air conditioning and an extreme number of mosquitoes.
3. The pay is not commensurate with the responsibilities. You are expected to handle assembly, testing, ROBOT programming, point setting, test runs, machine installation, machine adjustment, repairs, maintenance, and customer service, yet earn only 30,000. Sometimes you also have to do miscellaneous chores and serve as a helper for the senior management's family. Also, because senior management said they wanted to cut costs, they dismissed the cleaning lady and required employees to take turns cleaning. So you may get the amusing opportunity to see department managers emptying wastewater and cleaning toilets.
4. Everything promised during the interview about training and certifications fell through.
5. Workplace accidents are concealed.
6. You have to pay for business trip expenses upfront, and reimbursement will also be delayed.
7. The company considers working at an out-of-town customer's site equivalent to working at the company. A one-day trip is not counted as a business trip, including absurd trips such as traveling from New Taipei to Tainan and back in one day.
8. There is only a lunch break and no clear system for breaks during working hours. Only smokers can openly slack off, which is quite unfair to nonsmokers.
9. NT$200 is deducted from your salary every month to buy coffee beans, along with an amount allocated for your birthday gift. They call this a benefit.
10. The bonuses for the three major holidays are roughly NT$1,000, and the year-end bonus is usually only a few thousand dollars.
11. Senior management is very clever: after someone bumped their head because the work area was left unlit in the evening, they strictly required everyone to wear a hard hat at work. They also require gloves to be worn, even when practicing on lathes, drill presses, and milling machines. Anyone with common sense will recognize how clever senior management is.
12. There is no performance bonus system, and the company is heavily driven by personal discretion. Many people simply coast along, and the company has no visible future. Run away while you can.
