Pros

No one is supervising you, so the work is very flexible. The boss doesn’t come into the office and only uses LINE to communicate. Occasional company dinners.

Cons

Applying for a regular position might be fine, but if you’re applying for a position that requires creativity or involves establishing something new, I recommend against it. There is no management layer, and when you ask the boss questions, they often ignore you or leave your messages read without replying. In the end, the boss comes back and questions why there has been no progress on your work—but how are you supposed to continue when they won’t answer your questions? If you make your own decisions and the result isn’t what they wanted, you’re in trouble.

Whenever the boss suddenly wants something done, they assign it to you, even if it has nothing to do with your job or the company. You waste time doing it; if you do a good job and they’re satisfied, there’s no problem, but if they don’t like it, they won’t tell you what was wrong or what needs to be changed. They’ll simply say they don’t want it anymore. You learn nothing and have wasted your time. Sometimes, when you suggest your own ideas or indicate what you’d like to work on, they’ll even say, “No, I don’t believe in your abilities.” If they won’t tell you what direction they want, how are you supposed to move forward?

If you think you’re really good at reading minds, you can give it a try.
