Pros

You can be late as much as you like (huh?

Cons

This company also has another name (it appears in the company introduction on 104). Don’t be fooled by the association’s name. This company has absolutely nothing to do with the Taipei World Trade Center, Taichung World Trade Center, or the Taiwan External Trade Development Council; its level is also far below those organizations. Basically, it is a small company with no systems whatsoever. There are about four full-time employees, with the rest being interns. Claims that it also has employees in mainland China are all false.

During the interview, they said the company had a stable customer base. Only after starting work did I discover that the so-called stable customer base was a list of clients who had exhibited at some unknown time in the past, most of whom no longer participate in exhibitions. Less than three days after starting, the boss will pressure you about why you have not generated any business, then decide that you are unsuitable and start making all kinds of difficulties for you. But the position I applied for was a sales assistant, and the salary was also that of a sales assistant, so why was I expected to shoulder sales targets?!

The Wu X-huang mentioned in the previous comment—be really careful!!

I advise anyone thinking of joining this company to think twice!

Get the chance to travel abroad (?)

Cons

You still have to drink with people on business trips. Drinking would be one thing, but they make you drink until people get handsy with you, and when you tell the boss, they don't care at all.

They tricked a vendor into coming to an exhibition but gave them a spot facing a wall. The vendor was yelling at the venue, while the boss hid and didn't want to deal with it, leaving employees to get scolded. Once, at an outdoor exhibition (they said they would put up a canopy, but didn't), torrential rain caused the vendor's valuable porcelainware to become containers for collecting water. The boss has been making empty promises for a long time. They often tell the sales team that a certain vendor complained about them, but after asking that vendor, they found out the vendor had never said anything at all. I don't know what goes through the mind of a boss who undermines their own employees.

This company often doesn't follow proper practices. I recommend that everyone be extremely cautious.

Someone mentioned the boss berating an intern. I witnessed it myself: the boss scolded the intern as if they were worthless, causing the intern to believe they were truly terrible and lose confidence in themselves. After the internship ended, the intern returned to school and even advised their juniors not to join this company.

There are too many bizarre incidents to talk about. In short, once you step into this company, you'll become someone with plenty of stories to tell.

By the way, if you unfortunately do end up joining, be especially careful around Ms. Wu X Huang—the one with the sturdier build. She'll do anything to protect herself!

Pros

The work is not very difficult

Cons

Apart from attending exhibitions, it is usually quite boring

What was mentioned above about a senior employee dumping their assigned work on interns and then taking all the credit is true.

I once chatted with an intern and discovered that this employee had actually assigned them to write a press release for an exhibition.

Come on, they specialize in translating scientific English, not mass communications.

It can help you train your acting skills.

Cons

The boss has no concept of time and often announces a meeting close to noon. Because the boss is illogical, meetings tend to drag on for a long time—basically measured in hours. When the boss is displeased or cannot find information, they will yell and constantly threaten to fire the interns. One full-time employee always acts superior, pushes all their work onto the interns, and takes credit for it themselves.

The position is advertised as an assistant role, but in reality, the work covers everything under the sun and you are also expected to shoulder performance targets. If you have a wide range of skills, do not reveal them too readily, or you will end up with endless tasks, as people will take it for granted that they can push their work onto you.

The supervisor will first try to build a rapport with you and complain about the boss together with you, but will then turn around and relay everything you said to the boss, word for word.

Can't think of any at the moment

Cons

I only lasted one month before I couldn't take it anymore. The vendor information had never been organized, so I had to guess based on the vendor names. The boss spent practically every afternoon in meetings. The meetings were usually about telling you how to solicit vendors, but following those instructions would get you harshly scolded by the vendors. However, if you didn't follow the boss's approach to soliciting vendors, you would also get lectured. Being yelled at all day long was simply unbearable, and I couldn't keep going.

You can travel for work and broaden your horizons.

Cons

Business trips require entertaining clients and drinking. During business trips, you usually cannot return to your room to rest until around 11 p.m. There is no overtime pay for business trips. The annual salary promised during salary negotiations is all a false promise (they ultimately use poor performance as an excuse to cut the offer). The maximum salary at this company is NT$28,000, and it absolutely will not go any higher! The boss requires patient attention!
