Read the community guidelines1. When the company is short-staffed, employees are asked not to take so many days off. For example, there have been months when employees should have had eight days off plus one or two national holidays, but the company required them to work on those national holidays and paid overtime. (Usually, employees were not asked for their opinions; it was a mandatory requirement.) The company made this request frequently.
2. Often work 11-hour shifts.
3. Days off cannot be scheduled as desired. The company uses various excuses to prevent employees from taking the days they want off. The same applies to annual leave.
4. Inventory shortages are paid for by the employees themselves. If there is an inventory surplus next time, the company will not refund the money. (At a previous workplace, PX Mart, inventory discrepancies were handled by the company itself. PX Mart’s philosophy was that, over the long term, there would naturally be both surpluses and shortages, and employees should not be made responsible for them.)
5. The year-end bonus is less than one month’s salary. (The company will say that performance was poor.)
6. Employees must continually respond to messages in the company group chat outside working hours.
7. Supervisors and colleagues closely monitor employees’ social media accounts. Complaining is absolutely not allowed; otherwise, employees will be questioned.
