Currently, about 80% of the company's operators are migrant workers, with most of the remainder being dispatched workers. The pay and benefits are poor, so employee turnover is quite high. Some shift leaders are less capable than line leaders and are often unable to answer basic questions, frequently requiring guidance from senior supervisors. In addition to the company's own products, the assembly line also handles contract manufacturing for around five other companies. When two lines are rushing orders simultaneously, staffing becomes a problem, and a lot of time is often spent on rework.
