Read the community guidelinesThe company is small, management is very lax, and decisions are based on personal discretion. On the surface, people are friendly and approachable. The location is convenient, the coffee is good, and there are often snacks.
When you ask about work-related matters, you don't get clear answers, but there is plenty of friendly-sounding nonsense. The magazine supervisor is a mouthpiece and will drag others into schemes. The boss has communication problems and acts as if they are too busy to listen to you, yet whenever they speak, they can never seem to wrap up. There is no room for discussion about anything, and they show very little respect for others. They don't even remember what books they have published or what topics they covered. Staff turnover is frequent, no editorial workflow has been established, and files and books are not organized. The space is not enclosed, so there are many mosquitoes.
