Cons

The company is a travel agency specializing in tours to Singapore and Malaysia. Due to the pandemic, it took on some domestic tourism business, but the profits were extremely low.

Before November 2022, it had been closed for a year. The two remaining employees found other jobs, then returned in November 2022.

The company wanted to expand its business by bringing Singaporean and Malaysian tour groups to Taiwan. Recently, it took on some low-profit domestic tourism business, using domestic tours to attract customers to travel to Singapore and Malaysia.

In mid-November, the owner's younger son joined the company. His original position was executive assistant.

After just one year, in 2023, he became general manager.

The only reason was that he was taking over the business. The condition for taking over was that he had to manage everything; otherwise, he would give up taking over.

At a meeting, he even said that the company could simply close down and stop operating, and that having several million dollars on hand and earning underground income would be better than struggling thanklessly at the current job.

He argues with Director Kang, the owner's mother, every day. They can quarrel over any business matter, big or small.

The director, who comes to work at 11:00 and leaves at 15:00–16:00, is responsible for arranging and dispatching drivers and tour buses, exchanging currency, playing with the dogs, and studying Zi Wei Dou Shu. Since there are not many tour groups at present, the number of monthly departures can be counted on one hand...

Since the new general manager took office, the former general manager and the directors (his mother and father) have stopped handling matters. Any problems are sent directly to the general manager.

They are preparing to retire. Although the former general manager has not yet reached retirement age, she continues to act as a powerless informant. Whenever she says a few words to the new general manager, the colleague involved suffers. New employees must be extremely careful, as you can also be dismissed for any arbitrary reason.

Subordinates are treated with a highly critical and scolding approach. Even a minor task can make the general manager lose her temper.

New employees quickly want to leave, especially because there is overtime every day but no overtime pay.

The new general manager will only tell you to take compensatory time off, so you can only obediently take leave and have no right to choose when to take it.

The short-tempered new general manager basically allows no room for error at work.

The employee dinner that had originally been scheduled every month could also be canceled for everyone simply because one colleague said they were not going...

The benefits are practically nonexistent. If you see the job posting, reasonably assume with 100% certainty that the listed benefits do not exist.

The workload is extremely heavy. The work consists of constantly requesting quotations, planning itineraries, and calculating the cost of each tour. After calculating the price, customers either simply reply that it is too expensive and they do not want it, or do not reply at all. After spending time preparing the itinerary, you still have to process the cancellation, and may even be charged a cancellation fee...

The new general manager even gets the job title wrong in the recruitment posting: 104 lists an administrative staff position, but the actual role is a tour-control/OP ticketing position.

Think carefully before applying. The job is not simply an administrative position.

The owner's wife brings two dogs to work every day. If you are afraid of dogs or dislike the smell of dogs,

if you dislike family businesses or do not want negative emotions unrelated to work to affect you, do not consider this job either.

Only those who can tolerate all of the above should apply. In short, do not force yourself to take this job, because the chances of staying are not high.

Either you will want to leave, or you will be dismissed—the outcome is the same: leaving this place.

Only people who have worked as OPs can understand how busy this job is; it is not an easy job.
