Pros

The company has some good colleagues, and the products are distinctive, but the managers and the boss’s wife are very fake.

Cons

After listening to the manager paint an overly rosy picture, I only realized after joining the company that its bonus system is extremely poor. Not only are the targets set very high, but if you fail to reach 100%, your performance payout is discounted according to the percentage you achieved. In the end, you do not receive much money. In addition, the company’s relatives and favorites all hold management positions. The longer you stay, the more you realize that the company is essentially being led by a bunch of people who do not put their hearts into their work.

Another very important point is that you have to submit reports every day. These are not like the reports at ordinary companies, where you only need to enter key figures and orders; instead, you must describe in meticulous detail everything you discussed with pharmacists that day. Therefore, when you have just joined the company, it will probably take you more than an hour to finish the daily report. The company managers also like to read flattering statements, so you cannot enter the facts reported to you by customers in the daily report. In other words, your report may not be entirely truthful. So if you are good at making up stories, the daily reports at Green Apricot should not be difficult for you.

Later, to avoid paying severance, the company introduced a new rule: when a salesperson fails to reach 60% of their performance target for a period (two months), their salary will be renegotiated and they will be put on probation again. Seeing this, you probably find it unbelievable, right? So if I wanted to get rid of a salesperson, all I would have to do would be to set their performance target extremely high for that period, allowing me to lawfully send them back to probation without spending a penny.

The boss and the managers all own shares in the company, so they consider their own interests in many policies. There is no room for career development at this company. Moreover, because it is a small company, they act arbitrarily and do not comply with regulations. To give a more serious example, the company’s products are subject to restrictions at pharmacies requiring pharmacists to sell them at only one price. If this is violated, the company imposes a penalty equivalent to 20 times the amount. However, this basically violates the Fair Trade Act. If they can even violate that law, do not expect them to place much importance on their employees. In their eyes, the Labor Standards Act is merely a reference.

Finally, working as a salesperson at Green Apricot requires you to master eighteen different skills. One of them is climbing stairs to tie up cloth banners, which means you must also be willing to work as a laborer and tie up banners. I have already left the company for quite some time, but I am posting this because I do not want anyone else to fall into this trap. I hope this helps anyone currently considering working for this company.
