An employee surnamed Li of Ruiyou Co., Ltd. was dismissed. He filed a lawsuit confirming the existence of an employment relationship and won. On his first day back at work in August the year before last, Liang Gengyuan, the person in charge’s son, humiliated him by saying, “You’re sitting here just to be a watchdog,” and “Woof, woof—hurry up and get off work, go eat.” Li accused Liang of publicly insulting him. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office indicted Liang, and the Taipei District Court sentenced him to 45 days of detention. Liang appealed, but the High Court found that he had made “woof, woof” sounds to demean Li, rejected the appeal, and finalized the judgment.
