The engineer who interviewed me looked like a young guy with little experience. He spoke coldly and seemed really jaded. So do you think the employee benefits will be any good...? At the beginning, he just gave me two very simple diagrams. While I was drawing, he flipped through the information I had just written. I saw online that the salary is only about 33K and is barely adjusted. No wonder he looked so sour. Before I even started drawing, I already felt that this wasn’t a place where I could stay for long. After I finished, he simply asked whether there was anything I wanted to know. I directly said no, and he said thanks and asked if I wanted him to walk me out. I said no, and then he left even faster than I did. Maybe he was rushing back to finish some drawings, haha.
Just a reminder: this company may not be as glamorous as it appears on the surface. But it’s also possible that this was just a personal issue with that particular engineer. That’s all.
As I said earlier, the company’s appearance may be great, but that’s all it is—an appearance. In practice, the people who share the workload, communicate, and provide support are always the ones in the same department. If someone has a face that says, “Yeah, hurry up, okay? Don’t waste my time,” then do you think the next several years there will be easy? Besides, at a small factory, saying there will be a second interview is probably just an excuse, right? The engineer’s vibes were off, and if he was in a bad mood, he might decide the next second that he didn’t want you to join. You’d better just focus on rushing through the drawings, hahaha. And then he put on an act by asking what else I wanted to know. What I wanted to know was whether the reason for his sour face was that he was about to quit.
The company complies with the Labor Standards Act regarding overtime pay and annual leave; everything that should be provided is provided. It is a traditional industry transitioning to precision manufacturing. Salaries are average, and pay increases are relatively modest, but the company grows steadily. Even during the pandemic and economic downturns, there were no unpaid leave arrangements or layoffs, making it suitable for people seeking stable employment.
