Pros

1: Working hours are 08:30–17:30, with a 90-minute lunch break

2: No need to clock in or out; if you have something to do and want to leave early, you just need to communicate with your colleagues

3: Employee discounts on the company’s own products, approximately 30–40% off

4: Short actual working hours

5: There is currently no supervisor in the central region, so the pressure is relatively low

6: You can learn very basic water and electrical work-related skills

7: If you achieve good results, the company is also quite generous with bonuses

8: Employee trips are provided; last year’s trip was five days in Japan

Cons

1: The sales gasoline allowance is NT$3,000 per month, with no maintenance or toll reimbursement (this is not necessarily a disadvantage and depends on the individual, but I’m including it anyway)

2: Toll and parking expenses can also be submitted for reimbursement, but it depends on the accountant’s mood! If she does not want to let you submit a claim, she will make things difficult

3: Because there are few people in the central region—around three or four employees—sales staff previously had to deliver goods, handle repairs and installations, and visit clients! I don’t know whether this is still the case (this also depends on the individual; personally, I think I learned a lot)

4: Because the company represents Japanese-imported faucets, the prices are relatively high, so visiting clients can be somewhat frustrating! In addition, sales clients are not assigned by region, so it is difficult to get started (I don’t know whether regional assignments have been implemented now)

5: Labor and health insurance are not provided on the first day of employment; enrollment is delayed by a few days (I’m not sure whether this was an isolated case)

6: The annual leave calculation has been changed! It has been changed from an anniversary-year system to a calendar-year system

7: Because there is currently no supervisor in the central region, and the accountant has a domineering personality, many decisions depend on her mood. If she takes a dislike to you, be careful! Every day at the company, she will speak ill of you and engage in “slight” verbal bullying (注意!也會跟總公司報告)

The comments above concern the central-region branch! I don’t know about the other regions.

Actually, this is a fairly good job, and the company does comply with the Labor Standards Act! The biggest issue is mainly the “people”! In addition, there are already few employees in the central region, so if someone really takes a dislike to you, going to work every day will feel very unpleasant.

If you really feel that you are being bullied, protect yourself. Record things when necessary and keep evidence—don’t let people like this act with impunity.
