This is a notoriously disreputable security company. After a security guard was crushed to death by a rolling shutter door, the company was only willing to pay NT$50,000 and increased the compensation to NT$300,000 only after being ordered to do so by a judge. I briefly worked for the company as a parking-lot security guard at one of its sites in southern Taiwan. The company did not make the salary payments that both parties had originally agreed would be transferred by bank deposit, and instead paid by scheduled checks. More importantly, I checked and found that all positions at the company are considered by the company to be “training” positions on the first day and are unpaid. The key point is that this was not disclosed when both parties signed the documents and submitted identification. Many people only discovered it during their first month of receiving pay. Even after labor-management mediation had been initiated at the Labor Bureau, the company still insisted that the first day would be unpaid. It is a deplorable company that even left the committee members shaking their heads.
