If you saw this company advertising a high salary and a 14-month year-end bonus on a job website, I still advise everyone not to waste their time going to an interview.
The website states that the minimum monthly salary is 35,000, with a 14-month year-end bonus.
When you go to the company for an interview, they change their explanation and say that the company calculates compensation based on annual salary. When I first heard that, I was completely confused, so I’ll calculate it for you here.
At the interview, they will tell you that they are only willing to pay a monthly salary of 30,000.
14 months = 30,000 × 14 = 420,000; 420,000 ÷ 12 = a monthly salary of 35,000.
This is the first time I’ve seen such a dishonest company. They use the title of a 14-month year-end bonus while posting a minimum monthly salary of 35,000 on the job website.
But in the end, they are only willing to pay you 30,000 per month. Want to receive the remaining two months’ pay? Then you have to stay for a full year first.
I can handle fire-protection drawing reviews and inspections and have experience drafting fire-protection drawings, and I’m supposed to go there for 30,000? I could find an administrative assistant job on the street for 28,000, slack off, and wait until the end of the workday. And for this lousy salary of 30,000, you want someone responsible for drafting drawings for an entire project, while also constantly working overtime?
Cheng An is more honest than your company. At least when I went there, they told me that the monthly salary was 34,000 and the year-end bonus was at least one month. Although the annual salaries at the two companies are about the same, your company’s refusal to offer the proper salary upfront and its practice of withholding everything until the year-end bonus is paid all at once are truly hard to commend.
Sorry, I’m here to talk about the drawbacks.
The job bank listing said the salary was over 40,000, so I agreed to come for an interview—then the offered salary was 27k. What’s up with that???
The other firefighting companies I interviewed with at the same time all offered my expected salary. This is the only one that wasted my time, and the interview itself took over 3 hours.
Employees have to take out the trash, tidy up the environment, and take turns being assigned as the person on duty. For such a large company, can’t they even hire a cleaner? OAO
