It’s never too late to turn back

I interviewed in 2017. My experience was similar to everyone else’s. They kept asking me about my first job, and only after being prompted did I notice the other fields.
When I interviewed, I remember seeing only two people in the entire office... so naturally, I assumed the turnover rate must be extremely high. You have to do everything. You can wait until you’re really starving before applying for this job.

The boss seems unable to understand plain speech and keeps asking the same questions. Moreover, during the interview, they never explained the job responsibilities and kept testing my computer skills.

I didn’t understand it in the first place—shouldn’t I have been taught? He just points out my mistakes and keeps nagging me about them. There are only three or four employees, so each person has to shoulder a lot of responsibilities. And they take it for granted that we work more than eight hours, even though he himself comes in very late.

The interviewer was extremely rude and did not introduce himself, so by the end I still did not know who he was.
He had not carefully read my completed résumé and kept asking about my first job. Only after I reminded him did he say, “Oh, I see it now. I thought you had only had one job.”
He only commented on the government, saying that low wages were the government’s fault, without making it clear what he was trying to convey.
He kept emphasizing that the company communicates with vendors by email rather than by phone. It felt like he was showing off, even though communicating by email is nothing special.
He suddenly told me about a product and then asked me to go aside and write down the product’s features based on what he had just told me. After I finished, he said, “No one proposes it this way.” However, he had not explained at the beginning that this was supposed to be a proposal, so I thought it was simply a test of quick memorization or something similar.
I am currently still employed. Under normal procedures, I need one month before I can start a new job, and I also explain this to the interviewers at the company, since some people have financial obligations and cannot be without income. However, the interviewer from this company sarcastically said, “Who would hire you if you need a month before you can start? I think you should resign first and then look for a job.” He ended by saying, “If we can’t find anyone by then, we’ll notify you in a month.” I felt extremely disrespected.
