Pros

The company environment is fairly good.

Cons

The salary they offered was rather laughable. After expressing my confusion at the time, I was persuaded by the three interviewers to consider what mindset I should have in accepting this salary...

In the second interview, the position suddenly turned out to be different from the one I had originally interviewed for—I only discovered this myself halfway through. Is it really that difficult to proactively inform candidates before the second interview?

Finally, the two managers and HR stared at me with six eyes in a small room and asked whether I wanted to join the company. They also enthusiastically invited me to participate in the company’s employee outing and meeting at the end of the month to get to know everyone. (That sounds like I was hired, right?)

Because I had previously experienced being verbally promised a job offer but then receiving a rejection letter, I asked whether I should first receive an offer letter and then respond within the week regarding my willingness to accept. The managers also said they looked down on the practice of verbally promising an offer and then sending a rejection letter. They told me not to worry and that they would “follow up with an offer letter,” since I genuinely needed time to consider the salary and position.

Within the week, I proactively replied that I was willing to accept the position, only to be told that I had not been hired!

This made me feel as if I had been toyed with. Is basic respect really that difficult? I had already raised my concerns—are there really companies that go back on their word like this?

This was extremely disrespectful to the interviewee. It meant that I had spent the entire week thinking and agonizing over this for nothing—isn’t my time valuable too?

I also have serious doubts about products made by a company like this...(a long-established hair-care brand
