Pros

What is said today can be changed tomorrow—the policies are flexible to a surprising degree.

Suitable for professionals who love challenges, thinking on their feet, and improvisation. Here, you can quickly develop your patience, memory, and emotional management skills~

Cons

This job will help you deeply realize the truth that you can only rely on yourself for everything, and will also make you grateful toward every company you work for in the future ☺️

Pros

Convenient location

Cons

1. The boss was late for the interview…

I was first asked to wait in the conference room. Ten minutes later, no questionnaire or anything had been arranged, and only then did the boss slowly walk in and sit down. Nothing was explained either, which really left me stunned.

(Personally, I think a boss who has no sense of time is unacceptable.)

2. The boss’s way of speaking and thought process is somewhat circular.

He only wants to talk about the good parts and hide the bad ones, but his own words reveal that there are countless holes in what he says. Also, the company cannot keep up with current fashion trends. If you like fast fashion and keeping up with the trends, this company is not suitable for you.

3. Not suitable for people with strong opinions.

If your stance is too strong, it is easy to become like a thorn in this company’s side. If you prefer to cooperate with your supervisor and the company, this is a very suitable place for you.

Pros

Close to the MRT station

Suitable for people looking to work across fields or change careers

Cons

1. Salaries are paid on the 10th of each month, and payment is delayed if the date falls on a holiday. The same applies around the Lunar New Year. There have been occasions when both the year-end bonus and salary were not paid until the first day back at work after the holiday. When someone raised the issue, the boss said: “Other companies do the same. If you want to receive it before the holiday, sign an IOU with the company.”

2. The boss is always right, but frequently contradicts himself and forgets what he has said. He only ever mentions what benefits him, and when he is wrong, he absolutely refuses to admit it and simply shifts the blame to others. He sets a bunch of rules and SOPs, but he is the person who follows them the least.

3. He does not trust employees and keeps a very tight grip on every department. Any matter, big or small, must go through him for approval. Every employee feels mentally exhausted.

4. You absolutely must not question him or talk back. He will get angry, accuse you of being defiant, and may even give you a demerit.

5. He is extremely long-winded and never gets to the point, often going off on lengthy tangents that have nothing to do with the matter at hand. There are meetings every day (some departments spend entire days in meetings), so nobody ever has enough time, but he never realizes that he is the cause.

6. The work you end up doing will absolutely be different from the position you originally applied for. Almost everyone works across two departments, so if you are looking to change careers, this is the place to join.

7. Turnover is extremely high, and there are very few long-term employees.

8. He asks for your opinion but has no intention of listening. He only listens to what he wants to hear.

Pros

The decor is presentable, and the location is convenient.

Cons

If there is already a salary floor, I suggest stating it directly in the job posting. After seeing the expected salary (the amount that other companies were already willing to offer), the interviewer began criticizing, belittling, and questioning the interviewee’s abilities, even directly saying, “I think your portfolio does not fit the company’s style.” (Then why notify me about the interview in the first place and waste both of our time?)

At the beginning, he explicitly said that he did not understand design, but then started criticizing the interviewee’s work based on his own “uninformed” perspective.

Although this was an individual incident, it shows that the company’s higher-ups have room for improvement in terms of emotional intelligence. If someone’s salary expectation is higher than the budget, they could also politely ask whether it is negotiable.

Personally, I feel that working under management like this would probably not come with very good compensation. This interview experience also made me certain that I will never buy KOKKO products.
