Read the community guidelinesThe director of the hospitality department is never in the office
1. It would be fine if the hospitality director surnamed Wang and the department director surnamed Chen did not understand the profession, but they disrespect professional expertise while pretending to understand it, which is truly laughable. They believe that exposure and ROI can be achieved without spending any budget. They post on social media every day, but the only people liking the posts are the two executives and the company's senior management. So is social media marketing really just a platform for the two executives to indulge themselves?
2. The hospitality director surnamed Wang thinks that having written a book makes him a KOL and that the media will compete to report on him. But has any media outlet come "of its own accord" to request an interview or product trial?
3. The director surnamed Chen has an unpredictable temper. Does coming from a kitchen background give him the right to raise his voice at employees whenever he wants?
4. The director surnamed Chen cannot use office software at all; he does not even know that Google Forms can be downloaded.
5. When running a food-and-beverage brand, do public relations and marketing really have to accommodate frontline restaurant staff? Do they know when to place advertisements and when to organize PR events?
6. The two executives—the hospitality director surnamed Wang and the director surnamed Chen—were both hired because they knew senior executives at Just In Art. Yet, in the year since they joined, at least more than ten marketing employees have left, all saying that the reason was that the work content did not match what had originally been discussed. The wool comes from the sheep—how old are the two of them, and do they still not understand this principle?
7. The director surnamed Chen only knows how to assign tasks randomly, such as telling PR to coordinate with Gomaji. Isn't that an operations matter?
8. Asking marketing specialists to sell mooncake gift boxes, while also requiring 2,000 boxes, is absolutely hilarious. Were the two of them working at a famous hotel at the time? No one has even heard of them, yet they want results like those of a famous hotel. It is truly baffling…
8. The two executives act according to their moods: if they are unhappy, they tell you to leave; if they are happy, they let you stay.
9. They constantly emphasize that all the restaurants under the company are located inside historic buildings overseen by the Ministry of Culture and have a great atmosphere. In reality, there has been no business growth at all since the two executives joined.
10. Hiring a bartender to work as a social media editor?
I am really looking forward to seeing the social media traffic for Just In Art's restaurants :)
11. Not understanding marketing is neither a problem nor something shameful. But if you do not understand management, why are you a director? Director Wang and you—do you have some undisclosed relationship? It is worth pondering.
12. Coming from a kitchen background is not embarrassing, but is it reasonable to manage an office using kitchen management methods?
13. The director surnamed Chen is never around. Every morning, he leaves after being there for less than two hours. Who knows where he goes or what he does? Or is he secretly taking time off during work hours? This is worth investigating.
14. I suggest that Mr. Lin Yi-Biao, general manager of Just In Art, personally take a look at what the people you hired have turned the hospitality department into.
15. Director Wang, please do not use your superior attitude to conceal the fact that you do not understand digital marketing or public relations. Having published a book does not mean that you are more noble or more knowledgeable. If things really are as you claim, why are the revenues of the restaurants under your management still so pitiful after you have been there for a year?
16. Director Chen, I can understand wanting to be the good guy, but please first produce concrete diplomas in management and business administration. Following Director Wang around does not constitute management. Director Chen, I sincerely advise you: you are always saying that other departments have complaints about the hospitality department, but since you are absent from the office for long periods, other departments have quite a lot to say about you as well. Why not take a look?
17. Director Chen, I sincerely advise you to first learn how to use office software. Phones may be convenient, but these days, very few people still attend meetings while holding a stack of A4 papers to take notes.
18. If the two executives are so confident that they can turn the restaurant's performance around, why has there still been no effect after a year?
19. Director Chen, why would you ask PR to invite fashion-media personnel—editors and reporters—to dine, and then say that they should post about it on their personal social media accounts? Would this actually help business performance?
20. Work should not be driven by emotion, but the two executives have been using their personal emotions to run the entire hospitality department. One person comes and another leaves. Do the two of them genuinely not see the problem, or do they think every problem is someone else's fault?
There is actually much more that could be said, but there is simply too much. I advise anyone who receives an invitation to join the hospitality department of Just In Art Multimedia to think twice, because the job duties discussed during the interview will definitely not match what you actually end up doing. Three employees have left just this month. Moreover, for some unknown reason, Director Chen seems extremely concerned about friendly relationships among colleagues. If you become too close to your coworkers, Director Chen will summon you for a discussion. Job seekers are welcome to come and experience for themselves whether the issues described above are true~
There is truly far too much that could be said, but readers, you will have to experience it and make up your own minds!
Transportation is extremely inconvenient. The surrounding area is full of construction sites and developments under construction, there are hardly any shops, and the air quality is poor.
There was only one interviewer, and they insisted that I have a personal social media account that I have been maintaining over the long term. They would not accept a school graduation project exhibition or department performance account as a portfolio, even if I was the sole person managing and operating the account. The account also had to have been maintained continuously and updated frequently. They also would not accept a former company’s corporate social media account as my own personal achievement—even if I had personally managed it and achieved results, it was still not considered my own work or an indication of my individual abilities. They placed extremely strong emphasis on having a social media account exclusively for “personal use.”
During the interview, the interviewer answered a phone call, which was one thing, but then kept repeating questions like, “What about your personal social media account?” They even proudly stated, “You’re not the first person I’ve asked this,” and, “There aren’t any other marketing methods nowadays, are there?”
If you want to see KPI results, recruit digital marketing talent, or hire a social media editor, please make that clear on the job posting. The job description clearly said the role involved planning and executing activities and working on-site, yet they completely ignored every account and channel I provided and kept repeating the same questions.
Influencers and online personalities with a proven track record who are willing to earn NT$30,000 a month can give it a try.
Applied for a position in Nangang District
.The interviewer was talkative
.No specific benefits were mentioned; they only said that all benefits follow the regulations of the parent company, "Want Want China Times Media Group"
.It was clearly explained that those who dream of working in exhibition art should consider whether this job is suitable for them, as the work still needs to be carried out according to supervisors' instructions
.During the interview in early June, the interviewer mentioned that, due to the busy workload, the interview result might be provided in the middle or at the end of the month. However, no message had been received by July, and the job listing was still active (therefore, I gave a negative review)
.The office is cramped, and the location inside the CTV Building is relatively inconvenient in terms of transportation
.The interviewer mentioned that everyone would go out to eat together during lunch break
