Pros

There aren't really any advantages. If I had to name one, the coworkers and supervisors are fairly nice and friendly.

Cons

Basically, most of the employees are older, and there aren't any young people. This means that if the older employees in those positions retire, the people below them will have an extremely difficult time—no one will know how to do the work.

To put it bluntly, the working environment is terrible—absolutely awful. The company makes packaging materials, generating dust and so on. Maybe because it's an old factory, the equipment is quite poor, and there's an especially large amount of dust. It can also cause allergies and other problems. Because there's so much dust, it can get into your eyes, nose, and onto your skin, making you very uncomfortable. So I guess this job depends on the individual. The starting salary is only NT$30,000. Although they emphasize that safety is important and say not to do the work if you can't, you still have to learn to do it eventually. Even after you learn, the salary is still just that much. I don't think NT$30,000 is worth it for an environment like that alone. The protective clothing is practically the same as having no protection at all; I estimate it's the lowest grade available. In a space filled with dust throughout the entire facility, they don't even have full-face helmets. If you work there for a long time, your lungs will probably become fibrotic from inhaling all those dust particles every day. For this salary, it's not worth sacrificing your health and risking your life. You'd be better off working at a gas station, seriously. Frankly, even if they offered NT$40,000–50,000, I still wouldn't recommend working there—unless you value money over your life and health, in which case it doesn't matter.

Pros

The salary is really high, which is very appealing—you start at 29K.

Cons

There is a lot of dust in the work environment, and the people there have a very bad attitude. I think one of them was a supervisor, but I’m not sure. As a new employee, I was taken directly to the work site and was only given dustproof clothing and safety shoes; I wasn’t given a mask, earmuffs, safety goggles, or any other protective equipment. They carelessly left me with an on-site employee, and I spent several hours following him around without knowing what I was supposed to do. I couldn’t learn anything because I didn’t even have basic protective equipment. It was only after one of the on-site employees noticed that I was given a glove as protection. The environment was already bad enough, and with supervisors like that, it really wasn’t a good experience.

Pros

The salary is fairly good.

The starting probationary salary was 29K.

After three months, it was 36K, with rotating three shifts.

Cons

The environment is extremely poor. As soon as you enter the work area, everything is shrouded in dust, and you have to wear a respirator with a gas mask filter.

The regular employees were extremely difficult to get along with, and the people in the material-feeding area spoke very sarcastically.

It is inevitable that new employees will work slowly when they first start. One particularly memorable thing was that when experienced workers came to take over your shift, they would come over and say:

"Did you even come to work today? It's the same as doing nothing."

Then every employee was constantly cursing the company, saying it would go under and other negative things. It was a terrible atmosphere.

I think these were the employees with the least sense of solidarity in any company I have ever seen in my life.

I also deeply feel for the engineers working there...

The company cannot hire based on talent alone!
