Pros

The office environment is nice, high-end and stylish.

Cons

I joined last year (and have since left).

It would be one thing if the position discussed during the interview differed from the actual job, but the interview itself was unusually long… at least two hours, I’d say!

The key point: the base salary was only 23,000??? They only told you about the salary structure after you joined? Seriously?! (Endless eye-rolling)

During the interview, they said that the starting salary would vary depending on each person’s position and experience, and that they would only be able to tell you after discussing it with the supervisor. But what they could tell you was that it would be 27,000, and that their perfect-attendance bonus was 2,000 (at the time, I thought it meant 27,000 + 2,000). I can only blame myself for not asking clearly enough… (Regret)

In reality, it was 27,000, including the 2,000 perfect-attendance bonus.

I chose to join at the time because I was deceived by their “beautiful appearance”! (I’m referring to the company environment.)

Every supervisor there was birds of a feather with the others, and most of them had pretty bad tempers… When they were upset, they would either bang loudly on their keyboards or pick up and slam down the phone. It was fine if we rookies were frightened—after all, the only response we would get was, “You’ll get used to it.”

But if you happened to feel even slightly emotional and wanted to vent, you were doomed!

You would either be called into a small room to be “counseled,” or be assigned a pile of work with a deadline you had to meet.

Speaking of the small room… whenever you failed to please a supervisor, you were often called in for a “meeting.”

To put it nicely, it was a meeting; to put it less nicely, it was about making you obey and not put up pointless resistance. Otherwise, you would only be given more and more miscellaneous tasks.

Unless you are someone who is very good at flattering supervisors and likes being their follower without seeking self-improvement, this company will not be a good fit for you.

Remember: if you want to get through every day at this company safely, do not have ideas of your own, and do not talk back to your supervisors. Everything a supervisor says is a “royal decree”…

Oh… right!

They also require every employee to enter the company’s tax ID number whenever making an outside purchase and submit the receipt to the company (but the company will not give you any additional cash), because they claim that the money is already included in your salary.

Also, the company does not provide company phones or vehicles for you to use; you have to use your own.

If repairs, fuel, or similar expenses are needed, they are your responsibility—the company does not provide reimbursement.

Pros

Can practice patience

Cons

The interview can take a very long time. Even if they realize within the first five minutes that it is not a good fit, they will still force themselves to keep chatting, portraying the company as one that places great importance on interviewees. If you have interviews with other companies afterward, you will usually end up running late.

Job ability 【does not need to be good】—if you can read the room, do not talk back, have no opinions of your own, immediately carry out the supervisor’s requests once you understand them, and uphold the belief that 【the supervisors】 are always right, you can survive. As long as the supervisor likes you, you can be incompetent, have poor work efficiency, ask even about fronting 10 dollars, spend four hours slacking off in the restroom, use your own phone at work, and be recognized even if you refuse to work overtime despite an overwhelming workload. Conversely, if they do not like you, you can work overtime until you faint and still be mocked for having a weak body.

They favor applicants who have used ERP, but forget that once you join, because it will be very different from what you have used before. The ERP system has been modified into something extremely complicated, and the permissions are also a complete mess; even the progress is always held up by the supervisors.

If you apply for a general staff position, do not expect to move up. More than half the people inside are supervisors. Unless a supervisor resigns and you happen to be liked by 【the supervisors】, you will have a chance to move up.

All of the company’s inventory has to be tested by employees. This means constantly handling chemical agents to clean dirty phones, as well as staring at phones for long periods to test their functions before resale. Only the supervisors do not have to test phones. When inventory arrives, you will be forced to work crazily long hours consecutively, regardless of whether you already have a heavy workload, whether your eyes are already uncomfortable from excessive testing, whether you need to pick up your children after work, or whether something is happening at home. You simply have to produce the designated quantity. Even if you do produce it, they still expect you to take on the old-timers’ quota—that is what counts as being proactive.

The way they handle resignations is extremely XX.

1. (Telling you how unworthy you are of this salary)

They look for faults: not proactive, not meticulous, inefficient, bad attitude.

They simply will not say that 【the supervisors】 do not like you. Therefore, no matter how capable you are, you are still considered to be failing. Even accidentally closing a drawer a little loudly will be discussed by the supervisors.

2. (Telling you to get lost immediately, leaving you caught off guard)

They persuade you to sign a voluntary resignation form, then ask you to leave that same day. Your workday ends at 5:30, but shortly after 5:00 they will call you into the meeting room. By the time the discussion ends, your coworkers will have already gone home. They will not even give you time to pack your things or say goodbye to your coworkers. Fridays are even worse: they wait until you finish cleaning before calling you into the meeting room. Yes—even this is something they have to pull.

If you think they only do this to new employees, you are wrong. As soon as an employee submits a resignation, they become an enemy, a rat crossing the street. Unless the employee is one the supervisor likes very much (extremely rare), they will immediately transfer your work away and tell you to leave at once. It is absolutely impossible to leave on the date you specified. If there is a holiday, a long weekend, a company dinner, or Lunar New Year, they will find a way to make you leave before then.

3. (Immediate dismissal with a full month’s salary)

They use this approach when someone is difficult to deal with: they pay you a full month’s salary and tell you to take the money and get lost. Of course, forget about other things such as perfect-attendance bonuses and year-end bonuses. To them, giving you a full month’s salary is already the greatest favor they can do for you; it is a wonder they do not make you thank Her Majesty for her heavenly grace.
