長榮國際企業有限公司
Pros

Punctual working hours, employee meals provided, shuttle buses available for commuting on weekdays, and a starting salary that is relatively high for fresh graduates

Cons

1. For working overtime on national holidays, employees must choose either overtime pay or compensatory leave. Working during the Lunar New Year holiday is also mandatory, with the same either-or choice.

2. There are no typhoon days off. Instead, after everyone has arrived at the company, employees are sent back home through strong winds and heavy rain.

3. When I had just joined the company and a case arose, the supervisors’ first reaction was to shift responsibility onto one another rather than teach the correct solution.

4. The seniority system is extremely serious, and personal attacks against newcomers are common.

5. Before new employees have accrued annual leave, some supervisors do not allow them to take leave at all.

6. When there are insufficient staff during overnight shifts, national holidays, and similar periods, employees may be forced to stay in the dormitory and continue working when a typhoon hits.

7. New employees are forced to participate in company activities held on days off to make up the numbers.

8. The rules are rigid, leaving no room for flexibility. Everything must be done according to the work manual. Even if there is a better solution and the result is still correct, supervisors will nevertheless scold you: “Why didn’t you follow the work manual?”

9. Even when everyone works overtime until eight or nine o’clock, supervisors stipulate that only certain employees may report overtime; the others must clock out first and then continue working.

There is too much to say—it’s impossible to cover everything.
