Pros

Colleagues get along well.

Cons

The boss goes to great lengths to make things difficult for employees who resign. Previously, after I was accepted by a new company, I wanted to apply for an employment certificate, but the boss refused, saying that they hoped employees would be unable to find jobs... Fortunately, the new company was understanding and accepted a payslip as proof of employment.

When joining the company, you also have to sign a lot of non-compete clauses prohibiting you from working for other companies in similar industries. When leaving, they repeatedly remind you that they will sue you if you violate these clauses, but they do not provide the compensation required by law to prevent you from working for a company in the same industry or for a competitor. (Please look up non-compete clauses online yourself, and remember to protect yourself when looking for a job.)

Pros

The vice president is a nice person. You can tell that he takes his work seriously and is passionate. He also treats interviewees with respect, providing a detailed introduction to the position and asking relevant questions.

(Not sure whether this is the same vice president mentioned in the previous review.)

Cons

I interviewed with this company a while ago. In the first round, I interviewed with the vice president. Overall, he came across as someone who gets things done and thinks clearly, and he treated me respectfully, which gave me a fairly good first impression of the company.

However, after the second-round interview with the general manager, I had only one thought: I wanted to file a complaint against him for personal attacks.

He started by playing a bunch of videos and repeatedly asking what they were about. I felt that there could be many valid answers, but as long as your answer did not match his, he kept challenging you until I eventually became too tired to respond. The English interview that followed was the same. Because of his personal attacks, I chose not to respond, and he assumed I could not understand him, so he started mocking my poor English (I began responding by smiling and nodding). At one point, he even told me that I needed to respect him XD

He asked why I wanted to change jobs. When I mentioned that one of my previous job changes was because I had received a better opportunity, he said, “So you’re JOB HUB?” Huh?? In short, he kept bragging about himself, showing me English emails he had written and making comments about how busy his job was and how good his English was, and so on. He did not explain or ask anything about the position at all.

Instead, he repeatedly attacked my professional background, work experience, age, and current company.

I wanted to say: I came for a job interview, not to participate in a Q&A prize competition. Do you really need every answer to be exactly correct before you’ll be satisfied and let me pass? Out of respect, I listened to him and gave polite responses, but eventually I really did have something else to do, so I said I had to leave. It was an utterly pointless interview. If I find an appropriate channel, I will probably try to file a complaint against him.

Oh, and because of COVID precautions, visitors had to have their temperature checked before entering the company. When he saw me, he looked at me as if I were a bacterium and said with a disgusted expression, “Well? What’s your temperature? Is everything okay?”

Then I saw the first point in the previous review’s cons section! I was shocked!! (I was shocked that I had forgotten to check the reviews first.) But I’m not surprised~

Pros

Administrative positions pay very well as long as you have enough years of experience; the monthly salary can exceed 40,000.

Cons

1. The general manager sexually harasses male employees and often asks male employees whether they had sex with their wives the previous night.

2. The base salary is very low, but the company uses a variety of labels to inflate the stated salary. It counts health checkups, vehicle maintenance expenses, and additional savings insurance as part of the salary. Approximately 10,000 of the monthly salary is forcibly used to purchase savings insurance, which is locked in for 20 years; terminating it early upon resignation results in a 40% loss. (In 2015, my annual income on my withholding statement was approximately 1.1 million, but the amount actually deposited each month was only 60,000.)

3. The company has many of the general manager’s relatives working there as redundant employees, and some suppliers are also operated by the general manager’s family. They completely disregard the overseas parent company while doing things that harm the company.
