The department this company has the most difficulty staffing is the returns department, which has a high turnover rate.
And it only pays the basic wage.
How could it be reasonable to force the returns department into an unfair distribution of work and rest?
Personally, I think there are management problems in the returns department.
Everyone has their own responsibilities.
If you work quickly, you are told to stop what you are doing and support other areas.
If you work slowly, you receive support.
So it is still easier to get by by pretending to be clueless.

There are no pointless meetings every morning.
There’s no lunchbox-ordering service.
You have to clock in with an attendance card and also swipe an access card.
After clocking out, dispatched workers still have to return both of these items to their supervisor’s desk.
The next day, they have to go to the HR desk to get them back.
It’s utterly baffling.
There are no “No Smoking” signs posted in the restroom,
so a bunch of smokers simply smoke in there.
They smoke openly and brazenly,
rather than hiding inside a stall.
The colleagues are all very easy to get along with, and basically there isn't much overtime.
It's a family-owned business, and salaries don't get adjusted much, so it's only suitable for those looking for a place to coast until retirement.
There is a high turnover rate among younger employees.
