Interviewed for a sales position in Taichung. The sales manager seemed very busy, so the phone interview was scheduled for more than 10 days later.

The HR representative was polite, and the manager, who looked to be around 35, was also very polite. The interview was conducted in a room with HR and the manager together—a 2-on-1 interview.

Before the interview, I had to complete a logic test (quite a lot of questions, about 50 multiple-choice questions) and an English test (at a junior-high/high-school level).

I don't know whether the test results count, because someone went to the interview halfway through the test.

While you write the test, HR will make you a cup of hot Americano. That's pretty special—it's actually a hot Americano, and it's not watered down.

After the interview, HR said they would notify me of the result in about a week. There might be a second interview in Hsinchu.

The Taichung office is a townhouse-style building beside Taiwan Boulevard. There are often cars, motorcycles, fire trucks, and police vehicles across the street, so there is frequently noise. Even with all the windows closed, it's still somewhat noisy.

There is no elevator, so you have to climb to the fifth floor for the interview.

The supervisor is courteous. The work-life balance is good, and as a civil servant, life is very stable. The mid-year bonus is approximately 2.5 months of base salary...

The approval process actually takes a month <you don't find out whether you've been hired until a month after the interview—it really takes too long.....>

The interview time had been scheduled 10 days in advance. On the day, after I arrived at the security desk and called Ms. Huang in HR, I was only then told that the supervisor had closed the position!?

You only told me after I had arrived at the entrance?? Do you think an interviewee’s time doesn’t count as time?? Please have some professional ethics...

Quite a remarkable company. I once applied for a R&D engineer position at Shihlin Electric.

Throughout the entire interview process, I did not see anyone from HR; there were only staff from the hiring department.

The interview process itself was pretty good.

The next day, I was notified by phone that I had received an offer. A week later, HR emailed me to say that the company had changed its mind.

So the offer was withdrawn. I recommend that anyone who interviews there make sure to receive a written offer before resigning from their current job.

Also, Toyota vehicles are not allowed to enter the factory premises.
