Read the community guidelinesI only worked part-time as an English teacher.
I think it had a lot to do with the attitude of the branch director. At the time, I worked at a branch in northern Taiwan.
I personally worked under three branch directors, and they were all very nice, so I was quite happy there.
There was considerable flexibility when it came to taking time off unexpectedly, scheduling, and lesson content.
There were no issues such as conflicts among colleagues or unpaid wages.
Basically, I could also leave soon after class.
When the minimum hourly wage was 150, earning 300 per hour (250 base pay + 50 that required passing a monthly assessment) was really quite low.
There was also supposedly vocational training every month, but in reality it was a waste of time watching instructional videos online. (You also had to score at least 80 on the final test; otherwise, you would not receive the additional 50.)
