Pros

During periods other than the winter and summer vacations, you can start work later in the evening and work past 10 p.m.;

The relationships among colleagues can be quite good (except for colleagues or supervisors who slack off).

Cons

After Li Jia-tong stepped down as a director, the foundation's rules were changed into a complete mess.

There are a huge number of evaluations, all designed to keep you from receiving your year-end bonus! Employee evaluations and constant student exams as well—this goes against the original mission!

The workload is heavy across all positions. You have to know a little bit of everything. In addition to your regular duties, you are also assigned by lottery to take on other work in the department—a kind of convenience-store employee concept.

Some of the senior staff at the centers are not necessarily capable; they have simply been slacking off for a long time. But because they are favored by the supervisors, nothing ever happens to them.

The supervisors are not very capable, yet they like sitting in high positions and making cynical remarks. They also present employees' ideas to upper management as their own achievements. They only put on an act when senior officials visit.

The foundation currently has a high turnover rate. Some centers are in such serious condition that only three or four employees are keeping them running, and another wave of departures is expected after the Lunar New Year. Be careful if you are planning to apply!

(Those with a passion for education should not come.)

Pros

Colleagues get along well, and there is a company vehicle available for use.

The children are very lively.

Cons

One person is expected to do the work of three.

You have to attend classes, receive training, take mock exams, translate, make recordings, and participate in various internal competitions.

If the unit is short-staffed, you often have to cover classes, conduct home visits, deliver supplies, write case records, and draw family diagrams.

You need to know basic plumbing and electrical repairs.

You have to fill out a great many reports.

It is very fulfilling.
