Run for your life. A foreign-owned company with a traditional-industry core, traditional-industry culture, traditional-industry mindset, and traditional-industry managers. Consider it only if you want to coast toward retirement, have a high tolerance for alcohol, and have no other options left. There are hardly any reviews online, so I’m writing one here.
Keywords to ask about during the interview or, unfortunately, after joining the company:
1. Deeply entrenched drinking culture in both Taiwan and mainland China—there’s no pretense of politeness or respect :)
2. The 2024 incident involving female employees’ dormitory at the factory during a business trip, and how the company handled it (this is the most fascinating one)
3. Employee turnover rate in 2025
4. The American boss’s ability to manage his emotions (you can ask what he has done at clients’ sites; that’s quite fascinating too)
5. Whether the basis for bonuses is clearly written in black and white, or depends on his mood
That’s all. It’s no coincidence that job openings stay posted on 104 Job Bank for a long time without attracting applicants. If we can save even one person, that’s one person saved :)
