Read the community guidelinesThe position was Associate Information Engineer.
The manager and colleagues were all very nice.
The company provides comprehensive training and does not have a probationary period, so there is no need to worry about failing the probation period and being dismissed. After joining, someone will teach you, and they explain things in great detail. If you do not understand something, you can ask questions, and they will not become impatient because you asked.
The workload is also fairly manageable. If the workload feels too heavy, other people can help share it.
There is a lot to learn, but it is not too stressful, because even if you have not learned something yet, other people can help or guide you.
Overtime is rarely necessary. During my nearly 10 months there, I never encountered a situation that required overtime. The senior colleague responsible for training me also did not need to work overtime. Basically, once the workday ends, you can leave. Work that is not finished can usually be postponed until the next working day if it is not particularly urgent.
The company has a restaurant. Although you have to pay for the food yourself, it is quite tasty, and the daily specials are different, so you can eat something different every day and avoid getting tired of the food.
There are flexible working hours. If you are five minutes late, you simply leave five minutes later; it does not count as being late unless you are considerably late.
Overall, it is a company with a very, very good work environment.
I have now left the company and somewhat regret it, because it really was a good company. If my mother’s health had not deteriorated at the time, I would not have resigned and would have continued working there.
It is a job that would be very suitable for staying in until retirement.
The main drawback is probably that the benefits are somewhat lacking, although they are still acceptable.
Also, the salary is not particularly high for an engineer, but it is still much better than many low-paying, exhausting jobs.
