Even though they had already found someone, they still asked me to go for an interview. Only at the end of the interview did they say that they had already found someone and that I was merely a backup candidate. Very poor.

HR said the supervisor had reviewed the résumé and wanted to invite the candidate for an interview. However, on the day of the interview, the supervisor said that HR had made a mistake, causing the interviewee to make the trip for nothing.
