Cons

I dreamed that this company was looking for a chairman’s secretary, but because the salary was too low, I only dared to write “executive assistant.”

During the interview, they did not introduce who they were at all. During the pandemic, they said nothing and immediately told the other person to remove their mask for the interview.

After half a day of interviewing, I couldn’t help asking what position this actually was. Only then did they say it was the chairman’s secretary, but the interviewee’s attire did not look related to being a secretary at all.

What they said was also quite something: they directly stated during the interview that there would be no overtime pay, that you had to be available whenever summoned, and that senior colleagues taught you not to start preparing to leave before the end of the workday—you could only begin preparing once the time had arrived.

With a salary like that, they were even so secretive about what position they were interviewing for. I really can’t believe this is someone working beside the boss of a publicly listed company.

Also, saying during an interview that there is no overtime pay is illegal, you know? The quality is truly plain to see.

Pros

At some department at headquarters, you can slack off, coast, and get away with doing poor work. You won’t be fired and can still collect an easy paycheck, and you can even listen to the company’s brainwashing songs at work.

Cons

I dreamed that the senior manager and junior supervisor of some department at headquarters had an especially good relationship. The junior supervisor just has to run their mouth every day, criticizing people for doing this or that poorly. With connections, nothing is a problem. The entire department is now just spinning its wheels. As long as you know how to flatter the senior manager and junior supervisor, you’re fine. Every year, management rolls out beautiful promises to blind you, luring new hires in to exploit them. Even after the younger generation has all left, they’re still thinking about how to brainwash people.

Then, in my dream, I saw a handover document from a senior colleague—and suddenly woke up.

Pros

1. No one supervises you when you’re out in the field.

2. Some clients are quite warm and personable.

3. You can occasionally return to the office for snacks.

4. If there’s a girls’ school in your assigned area, you can openly go in to check out the girls~

Cons

1. You have to cover fuel costs and vehicle wear and tear yourself. Only a very small number of areas offer subsidies.

2. There is no overtime pay. Leaving work at 20:00 because of delays is considered normal.

3. There are all kinds of shady things internally; I won’t go into the details. It’s really shady!

4. You’re out in the field every day and have to endure sun and rain. After returning, you still have to process the entire machine and complete reports....

5. If there’s a Formosa Plastics Group company in your assigned area, you have to do its accounting for free. They’re extremely difficult to deal with, and you get nothing for it!

6. Some clients are unusually absurd....

7. Roads in the mountainous areas are hard to find, and the assigned territory is vast.....

8. There are currently many people in the same line of work, so competition is fierce. I’ve heard from senior colleagues that salaries vary dramatically.
