Read the community guidelinesThe HR staff had a good attitude.
The salary differs far too much from the range listed on 104 (35,000–55,000), wasting job seekers’ time.... I spent time completing a bunch of tests, only to be told that even getting into the 40,000s would be difficult... Ridiculous. The office was eerily quiet, and while I was halfway through the test, I even heard a supervisor yelling at someone.
The view outside the company’s windows is expansive.
After entering the office, I found it was a large open space, but everyone had a partition.
After I said I was there for an interview, the HR representative appeared and seemed a little surprised to see me. It felt as though they had forgotten someone was scheduled for an interview that day. They asked for my name, then went to get the materials and took me to a meeting room to fill out my résumé and complete tests (logic, attention to detail, and Chinese-to-English translation).
After I finished filling out the information, HR first asked me to wait. They then came into the meeting room a second time to tell me that the manager was in a meeting, with no definite end time. The manager had already reviewed my information and would contact me by phone to arrange the next interview.
I was completely baffled.
Perhaps I was an exception, but I still thought the whole thing was rather ridiculous. If the manager’s schedule was inconvenient, they should have notified me in advance, especially since the interview was not scheduled right at the start of the workday. If they had already found someone, they could also have notified me and canceled the interview. The whole experience felt like I had gone there for nothing—it was disrespectful of the interviewee’s time.
