Video interview for an education and training position. The HR manager said they did not turn on the camera because it was broken.
The interviewer asked detailed questions about the individual's experience from graduation through their current position.
Although many questions concerned matters unrelated to the current position, each interviewer has a different style, so I respect that.
(However, if someone is more sensitive to the interviewer's tone when asking questions, they might find some of it rather uncomfortable.)
But after asking so many questions, they did not even want to introduce the basic job responsibilities; they only explained them after I asked.
It felt like I was not being respected.
Then, when I asked whether there would be notification if I was not selected, the interviewer actually answered brazenly, “There probably won’t be.”
It is hard to imagine that this was an answer from an HR representative at a publicly listed company.
Even replying, “The standard processing time is X weeks; if you do not receive a notification, it means you were not selected,” would have been much better.
After checking Mian Shi Qu, I inferred that the department probably has a fairly high turnover rate.
That’s all.
