Fairly relaxed (probably depends on the store location)
The manager at the store I worked at was unbelievably awful. Basically, whenever you were working, he would yell at you every day. He had said all kinds of really nasty things. He didn’t just berate employees—even suppliers who came to restock were yelled at so badly that he was sued...
There aren't really any advantages.
They provide a water dispenser for you.
(Because at other companies, you even have to bring your own water.)
The products are very expensive.
The employee discount is only 10% off the original price (excluding sale items).
Most of the managers are rather old (and particularly hairy).
You can't leave work on time.
There are also a lot of rules.
Their emotional management is especially poor.
Their attitude toward part-time employees and sales promoters is as if they were debt collectors demanding payment.
All you can say about the full-time employees working there is that they work themselves to the bone and work excessive hours.
Especially the branch near the north that has a Ferris wheel.
That branch is particularly grueling.
It has especially many crazy rules.
No wonder new employees never stay long.
Business at that branch isn't very good either.
Air conditioning
You can see the overtime pay application, but you can't actually get it
Severely understaffed, requiring support at various stores
Meals are at your own expense
There is so much work that you can't leave on time
Basically, the store manager is just a part-time worker too
The audit supervisor was very sincere in wanting to understand whether the interviewee genuinely wanted to cooperate over the long term.
Asked many privacy-related questions: Are you married? Do you have plans to get married? Do you have a boyfriend? Do you have plans to become pregnant?
..............None
Many branches are severely understaffed
which leads to an increased workload.
I had only been working there for a few days, yet I could already feel that the stores
belonging to this company—its subordinate outlets—
are truly awful...........
They use part-time workers as if they were full-time employees. I felt angry on behalf of those part-timers who had worked at that store for several years.
On top of that, the store manager keeps talking about the responsibility system.
Fuck that responsibility system!
Very easy to get in
As soon as you join, they say there is no budget and they cannot afford to hire student workers, using full-time employees as student workers. They take it for granted that people will work under a responsibility-based system without overtime pay. Do not join under any circumstances—you will regret it.
You don’t have to worry about not getting enough hours; there’s always work to do.
The workload for part-timers keeps increasing. One person is expected to do the work of three or four people, so people keep resigning. Those who stay have an even heavier workload, creating a vicious cycle. Part-time positions are treated like full-time ones, with full responsibility expected of part-timers. Staff turnover is too high, and the company does not value its employees.
The store manager is very nice, and the coworkers are easy to get along with (it probably depends on the store).
You leave work on time (as a part-timer), and overtime pay is provided for overtime work.
When there are enough staff, there will be very few workdays.
They are always short-staffed. Unless there is a special reason, it is very easy to get in—very suitable for people who give without expecting anything in return.
There is no overtime pay, yet you work beyond regular hours every day.
Benefits may be canceled depending on operational conditions.
You cannot say anything bad about the company on Facebook—not even click Like!
Working overtime every day without being able to claim overtime pay, while still being expected to finish the work, is really exhausting.
Escape whenever you can
A company that is very considerate of its employees
Has a very good store manager
Makes me very happy
All full-time employees work overtime. You will definitely see the overtime pay, but don’t even think about getting it. If you want to claim overtime pay, you can only wait until after you leave the company for a chance; if you argue with management about it while still employed, they will only harass you until you resign.
This company has been fined by the labor bureau multiple times and was even ranked among Apple Daily’s top three exploitative companies.
A small-scale gang!
Recently, because the company hasn't been making money, they cut branch operating expenses!
This leaves part-timers without shifts and full-time employees exhausted! They also require employees not to clock in overtime.
