While I was employed and looking for a job, I received a job offer after the interview and, after discussing the start date with the HR representative, they sent me an employment start notification by email. I also resigned from my previous company, only to suddenly receive a phone call saying that my start date had been canceled due to company policy. I was truly speechless.
